Innovation
MWE has been innovating products for 70 years. We were the inventors of the transport swab in 1975, which remains the defacto industry standard across the globe. We have introduced products like the ∑-Virocult, ∑-Swab, ∑-MM, Dryswabs, Fecal Transwab, Polywipes, and more into the global market in industries such as Clinical, Food, Pharmaceutical, Forensics, Veterinary, and Research.
Products like the ∑-Virocult, Dryswabs, and ∑-MM have been globally used to battle the COVID-19 pandemic.
Quality
MWE has always strived to ensure our products are manufactured and tested to the highest quality standards.
Medical Wire’s clinical products are CE-marked as medical devices (up to Class IIa) or in vitro medical devices, manufactured to ISO 13485:2016. Where appropriate, they are registered with the United States FDA. All our clinical and non-clinical products are also manufactured to ISO 9001:2015.
Our sigma range of products comply with the CLSI standard M40-A2 (for the Quality Control of Microbiology Specimen Transport Devices)

MWE has grown 10-fold over the years and has made huge reinvestments in equipment, facilities, infrastructure, and resources to make sure we have the capacity to meet global demands. Our aim has been to innovate, provide markets with the right products, and do our best to meet our customers’ needs.
